Bower Ponds

McKenzie Trails Recreation Area is a natural oasis in our City. The area offers many outdoor opportunities and is a great place to have fun surrounded by nature.
Maskepetoon Park
Maskepetoon Park is an ecological gem tucked away in the west end of Red Deer. Take a stroll along paths and trails that wind through the forest and marshland.
City Hall Park
City Hall Park is an ornamental park located directly west of City Hall. The park hosts 100,000 lights in the Christmas season and 40,000 annuals every year in a variation of colours and patterns in the summer.
Heritage Ranch
An equestrian centre is at the heart of the ranch. Enjoy trail and carriage rides in the summer or sleigh rides in the winter. Other activities include playgrounds, trails, a trout pond and picnic shelter.
Gaetz Lake Sanctuary
Set on almost 122 hectares of protected land within Red Deer city limits, Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary is a refuge for native plants and animals.
Great Chief Park
Great Chief Park is 16.5 hectare multi-use park site within the Waskasoo Park system.

Glendale Skatepark
In celebration of our centennial, we along with New Line Skateparks built a new skate park in the Glendale subdivision. It is located just of 76 Street and Taylor Drive.
Red Deer Skatepark
Located near downtown Red Deer, skate boarders and cyclists alike can practice their tricks and hone their skills on a variety of obstacles at this outdoor facility.

Off Leash Dog Parks
Oxbows-Off Leash Park
The Oxbows Off Leash Dog Parks, located at the corner of 19 Street and 40 Avenue, is a 16 hectare site designed exclusively for dogs and their owners.
Three Mile Bend-Off Leash Park
Three Mile Bend Recreation Area is a 55 hectare natural area that caters to a variety of outdoor activities. It is located on the North Bank Trail near the Red Deer River.
Spray Park
Blue grass Sod Farm Central Spray and Play
Blue grass Sod Farm Central Spray & Play is located at the northwest corner of Rotary Recreation Park (47A Avenue and 48 Street). It includes 7,500 square feet of free, accessible and creative fun.

Collicutt Centre
This multi-use activity centre located in south Red Deer sports 23,226 square meters of fun. Scream down the water slides, scale the climbing wall, take in a workout class or walk on the track with on site child minding.
G.H. Dawe Community Centre
This multi-use activity centre located in north Red Deer offers fun for the entire family. Make a splash in our water park or experience what our area, gymnasium, and exercise centre have to offer with on site child minding.
Recreation Centre
Located downtown, this facility has both an outdoor and indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam room, and fitness areas. There is also a privately operated arts and crafts space open to the public.
Northside Community Centre
The Northside Community Centre is operated by the YMCA of Northern Alberta.
Michener Aquatic Centre
The Michener Aquatic Centre has a six-lane 25 metre indoor pool, therapy and play pool, separate dive tank with two diving boards (one metre and three metre), sauna, and a dryland workout area.
Sports Arenas
Kinsman Community Arena
The City of Red Deer’s only indoor twin arena facility. Both arenas are regulation size (200ftx85ft) with Arena A having a bleacher seating capacity of 348 and Arena B having a bleacher seating capacity of 240.
Kinex Arena
An NHL size arena (200ftx85ft) with bleacher seating capacity for 404 people, the Kinex is home to The Red Deer Speed Skating Club and The Annual Oilmen’s Tournament.
Servus Arena
The Servus Arena features an NHL sized rink, room temperature seating, a two lane walking track, meeting space, plenty of team spaces and designated warm up areas.
